HYW Scottish Archers unit two

I have finally commenced my Scottish Archers for the battles of Fresnay, Baugé and Verneuil. I have 30 to complete them before I start the MAA.

Again from the Perry range of miniatures, I have painted them with the recorded badges of red field with yellow saint Andrew’s cross. I am planning a big anniversary game next year so

I had best get a wriggle on and complete some more foot.

Scottish Archers

Cheers

Matt

A fine start; you strung the bows! I've done that with some bowmen long, long ago. Looks great, but a real pain!

Yes a real pain, I strip the cotton thread into three then add a water white glue mix, run it through my fingers then weigh it down off the edge of my desk with a peg. When dry glue with grade two super glue one end let dry, then comeback and do the other end the day after.

Cheers

They look great. I can’t imagine straining the bows! Vermeil is a battle I’ve thought of tackling given the prominent Douglas role.

Thanks chaps

That’s on you. Douglas the loser fought the English as part of three armies and lost each time. An eye fighting for the Scots, a different ball fighting with Hotspur Percy and his life with the French at Vernieul.

I have walked the battlefield twice and visited the Scottish Cemetry once. For me it is a very interesting battle
