Aliens - Part 6 Cpl Ferro

Aliens - Part 6 Cpl Ferro

A splendid sculpt from Gale Force 9, Ferro is a fan favourite and I personally would have liked some more action from her before her demise.
Again US army green base, the helmet has a little brown added to achieve a more flat drab colour. Again a wash then highlight of the same colour. Boots and sunglasses nato black, sunglasses had a little grey added to highlight. I also tried to add “Fly friendly skies” to the helmet and again an indication of badges. Really happy with the paint job.

Aliens - part 5 Lt Gorman

Aliens - Part 5 Lt Gorman

Another cracking figure from Gale force 9, lovely amount of folds in the tunic. I used Vallejo US army green, normal flesh base, then wash, highlight US army green with a small amount of medium olive drab. NATO black belt and boots. Painting the badges was a little beyond my talents with the look at least of colonial marine badges and flags. Really happy with the results.

Aliens - Part 4 Burke

 Aliens - Part 4 Burke

Burke the company man…. I do wish the original ending had happened as per the script! Another fabulous sculpt and a great little figure. I have tried to achieve the checked shirt, I am fairly happy with it, we shall see if he sees the same end when I play a game soon.

Aliens - Part 2 Ripley

 Aliens - Ripley

I remember when Alien and Aliens hit the big screen, Alien when I was still at school and then Aliens during my military service, so I identified with the poor colonial marines. The movie aliens was also one of the first video purchases I made.

I have commenced completing the crew for the Aliens board Game and game extension sets over the last two weeks and have almost completed them, and more Aliens including the queen. First in the line up is Ripley, a fabulous miniature. Normal paint style, base colour, wash then highlights using my normal flesh recipe, clothing is luftwaffe blue, nato black jacket, the joggers possibly were the most difficult otherwise quite a simple figure. Quite happy with my results.

Aliens - Xenomorph…… not another bug hunt

 Aliens Xenomorph…..not another bug hunt

Completed my first batch of xenomorph’s for the Alien Another Glorious Day in the Corps board game. I watched a bunch of how too paint videos on YouTube, I settled on a blue green myself with a gloss wash. I added the saliva using glue. Quite happy with my results.

Less Than 60 Miles board game review

I have been adding tabletop counter games to my collection particularly over Covid. Most of these are operational level games which the various nations professional Army Wargaming Programs like us to have on hand.

One of the recent more popular Cold War Hot games are from the Redline Games series.

These are quite expensive but fantastic detail and so far I have had three great games with them. With more time I think I will master the multiple complexity level. Worth every cent I think with excellent maps and counters.
