Are you not entertained! Roman arena civilians

One of the side projects I commenced last year was to build a gladiator arena, one thing missing was civilians, I picked up 80 seated figures to paint, this is the first lot!

Sengoku Jidai - Samurai

A game at Pierre’s house this weekend for a large Edo period civil war game. Just fabulous and I was impressed! The miniatures  are predominantly 3d 28mm prints. The command figures and cavalry though are Perry Miniatures, Clan War and  Dark Sword character miniatures.  The terrain is all Sarissa buildings and a few 3d printed pieces, the rice paddies are scratch built.

Most of the collection is speed painted, slap chop with dry brush highlight, and I must say very impressed with the results. It was a learning game for most of the guys playing, we used pike and shot with the Samurai rule adjustments. It played quite well and everyone had a good time, I did manage to lose the castle …..

ZSU 23-2 aa gun

 ZSU 23-2 AA gun

A 3d printed piece I purchased two months ago to give my rebels, Soviets and Egyptians some light AA cover.

A simple speed paint and highlight, yet to purchase some 1/76 crew for it though.

Ww2 Building Boom part 7

Another completed 20mm building off the desk last week. Thirty odd more buildings to complete plus the tiles including a basilica and the three bridges, hopefully complete over the next three months.

This building was a birthday gift two years ago and is a 3D filament print. After a lot of clean up I think it looks pretty good. I copied a paint job of a building near the old railway line here in Mayenne, the red and yellow brick is regularly used here but mostly on rendered buildings, a late 19th century fashion. The building interior also had printed pieces which look pretty good too.
