Mining Robot 

 This figure is a Stargrave figure but it will join my Judge Dredd collection. I have been adding more robots to my collection. For this chap Unit 4 I have a scenario in mind around a mining site in the future. Quite a simple job but quite happy with the results, the Caterpillar yellow works well.

Another pair of robots for my Judge Dredd collection, again from the Northstar Stargrave range. These figures will join the deadlands part of the collection. Perfect for rogue or security robots, I painted one in an urban camouflage cape so they can inhabit the wasteland city’s of the deadlands.

Garde imperial Fusilier Chasseurs - WIP part 1

Garde Imperial Fusilier Chasseurs

I am planning additions to my late French army for the 1814 campaign, I have purchased three bags of the victrix imperial Garde packs in great coat, assembled them and have commenced painting this week.I have also purchased six boxes of Piano miniatures figures, so far two boxes assembled. 

I am tossing up if I should do snow on the bases or just leave them in campaign muddy wet conditions. Looking at the historic record we know that it was very cold in January and the first week of February with snow on the ground, it then warmed up after the 14th of February then cold again in March with light snow. 

I am planning to build orders of battle numbers for the battles 

Fusiliers-Grenadiers 2 battalions of 40 = 80 figures + 16 skirmishers 

Fusiliers-Chasseurs 2 battalions of 40 = 80 figures + 16 skirmishers 

Velites de Florence - 36 figures + 6 figures 

Velites de Turin - 36 figures + 6 figures 

Voltigeurs young guard 3 battalions of 40 figures = 120 figs, 32 skirmishers 

Plan to have the first battalion of fusilier Chasseurs completed this weekend.

UN vehicles

  I picked these two matchbox vehicles up recently and the last two weeks I have been undercoating vehicles and figures. I am back painting Congo units and some insurgents.  I thought I should paint these vehicles with my current batch of technicals and vehicles that are on the workbench. The decals were purchased some time ago for UN vehicles from . Quite Happy with the job

Judge Dreed - Mek Troopers

 Mek Troopers 

I recently purchased the ABC warriors set to add a bit of flavour for my cursed lands games and to buy some robots that could be used in scenarios. The Volgan AK-47 troopers fit the option to be Mek troopers. Mek troopers are battle droids only mentioned in cursed earth and Slaughter Margin role playing game. Perhaps an abandoned research facility or nuclear bunker type scenario. 

Mek Troopers rules 

Each time you encounter a Mek trooper roll a D6

1-2 deactivated 

3-4 Active but erratic. 

At the start of each turn roll a D6 :-

Odds - its remains static and may not fire or enter combat. 

Evens - droid functions normally 

5-6 Droid acts normally, may fire weapon and engage hand to hand combat

Judge Dredd - “Stop, it’s Hammerstein”

 Stop, It’s Hammerstein!  

When I purchased the ABC warriors set it came with several Mk1 Hammerstein figures, one of my resin figures had a broken leg and I thought I would build one standing and one sitting broken down. 

I then set about doing some cutting and sand with the Dremmel to get the figure to sit correctly for me. This figure will be a terrain piece for a rubbish pile or a scenario capture point.  The standing figure may make an appearance also in a game in the future 

Really happy with the paint job, both were painted in Vallejo German camo yellow than washed in Agrax earthshade, filled by sponge work for the rust effect, then pencil and paint chip work

WIP Wednesday - D-Day Anniversary build C47 Skytrain

 D-Day Anniversary C47 Skytrains

Decided to get my finger out and do a build of two C-47 Skytrains for DDay anniversary build. 

I have quite a few in the stash to build so I pulled out these two Italeri 1/72 kits and build them this week. Both will be numbered for the 101st drop around Saint Mere Eglise based on real aircraft.

Completed some claymore casting and Antediluvian figures foot sergeants for skirmish gaming. I do like these figures, his more recent ones are absolute crackers. The flag is cloth and hand painted.

Finally I decided to complete the Gale Force nine Alien Queen. A lovely figure, I tried to achieve something similar to my other figs, I think I need to add another gloss coat and a wash perhaps a she is not as shiney as I wanted. 

Onto completing the rest of the box set so I can have a game!
